Heavens' Cloths

Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dime and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half-light.

I would spread the cloths beneath your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams beneath your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.

Heavens' Embroidered Cloths
, W. B. Yeats

Drawn on stiff paper, with the background in black ink washed in uneven layers (to give a velvety appearance) over the words and stars drawn out with liquid latex and later inked over with silver and gold ink respectively. Smudges of silver were added to the black background to complete the cloths "enwrought with gold and silver".
